Term 4

Dear Parents and Carers,

We all understand that there are a number of
challenges that families are experiencing in these
uncertain times. The Elderbank Staff are keen to
assist wherever we possibly can. Through some calls
we have learned of challenges some people are
experiencing and we are keen to
help. Please remember you can

assistance.

We have been asked about using some video
platforms. Please be assured we are trying our best
but we are unable to use some Apps as they do not
meet the Council ICT security criteria.

Unfortunately, as some pupils are spending more time
on line there have been reports of
some Cyber Bullying. Can we please
ask that parents and carers regularly
check their child’s computer usage
and where appropriate ensure
parental controls are in place. Cyber Bullying is
unacceptable and it is important that we all address
any incidents to ensure the wellbeing of all children.

Primary 7 pupils and parents are concerned about the
transition to their new school. We have been liaising
with the staff from the secondary schools and there
will be more information in a separate update on
Thursday 21st May, which we hope will answer some
of your questions.

Early Years

Our Early Years Practitioners are working hard to
keep in contact with the children in their groups. We
hope you are enjoying the activities being suggested
by the staff. Mrs Collins and Mrs Carruthers will
continue to keep you updated with the separate Early
Years’ newsletters.

New Primary 1

Thank you to everyone who has returned the ‘All
About Me’ information. We look forward to receiving
all of these. We will provide more information once
we have received Government guidance on school
openings.

Supported Learning

Miss Farrell and her team are continuing to maintain
contact with families, but if you require any further
assistance or visuals, please let the team know and we
will do our very best to assist.

Parent Council

We are planning to meet with the
Parent Council through video
conferencing to ensure we maintain
our positive links and consult on our current progress.
We will update you of any key discussions, after this
meeting.
