to a longstanding building

As part of the Civic Center area encompassing the post office,
courthouse, and high school, the building located at 812 56th
Street has been owned by the City of Kenosha since 1997 and is
usually referred to be longtime citizens as the ‘old police station.’
Currently, the building houses the Kenosha Public Library main
offices and the Kenosha Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.
But their days are numbered, although a specific raze date has
not been set, the tenants are expecting to be out of the building
sometime this year. The entire block has been getting ready to be
the location for the next Kenosha City Hall in accordance with
Mayor Antaramian’s Downtown improvement plan. Jon Martens
