SF2018
It's pretty easy to figure out where our streetcar goes just by following the tracks, but there is an SF2019
additional transit system which was started two summers ago - a rubber-tired trolley which runs pri-
marily north and south in contrast to the east-west route of our current electric streetcar. The City of
Kenosha's seasonal lakefront rubber-tired trolley operates on a route from Carthage College, 2001
Alford Park Drive, through downtown and south to Kemper Center, 6501 Third Avenue. The rubber-
tired trolley departs Wednesdays through Sundays at 1:45 p.m. from Carthage College and is
scheduled to arrive at the southern end of its route about 30 minutes later at Kemper Center. The
trolley route passes several art galleries near the Union Park neighborhood. Other highlights on the
route include the Kenosha History Center, the Civil War Museum and the Kenosha Public
Museum. At 30-minute intervals, the trolley is scheduled to reach the downtown transit center, 724
54th St. There are marked stops for the "Lakefront Trolley" along the route, but people also can flag
down the driver for pickup. Look for the rubber-tired trolley next time you are in Downtown Kenosha
for a quick trip, or just for a scenic ride through the neighborhood. Fares are $1 for adults and $.50
for children. Call 262-653-4287 with any questions.
