Lady Indians headed to State Tournament

The Chipola Lady Indians Are The Runner-Up In The Panhandle Conference And Will Play
In Florida Southwestern, Wednesday, March 8, At 3 P.m. In The Fcsaa State Tournament In Ocala.
Tournament Games Will Be Broadcast On 100.9 Fm. The Brackets Are Set Up For A Possible
State Title Game With Chipola And Gulf Coast On March 11.
The Lady Indians (24-3, 8-3) Beat Pensacola 72-59 On
Feb. 25. Raven Baker-Northcross Led Chipola With 18 Points.
Danielle Garven Had 16 Points And 10 Rebounds. Sydnee
Mcdonald Had 11 Points. Nana Sule Had 10 Points And 13
Rebounds.
The Conference Standings Are: Gulf Coast (10-2), Chipola (9-
3), Tallahassee Is (7-5), Pensacola (3-9) And Northwest (1-11).
The Indians Finished The Season With A (22-8, 6-6)
Record After Beating Pensacola 87-80 On Feb. 25. Northwest Is The Panhandle Conference
Champion And Tallahassee Is The Runner-Up. Both Will Represent The Panhandle In

TENNIS Chipola Students Services is sponsoring Tennis Tuesday for Chipola students and employees.
Anyone interested in playing tennis is asked to show up at the courts, Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 3:15 p.m.

All levels of skill are welcome. The college also has a few rackets and free tennis balls available.

Chipola Softball tops State Poll with Top Player

The Chipola Lady Indians (22-1) are still the top-ranked softball team in the FCSAA Region 8 Coaches
Poll released Feb. 21. Chipola opens the conference season March 14 at Tallahassee. The Lady Indians host
Northwest Thursday, March 16, at 4 and 6 p.m.
Chipola’s Morgan Goree (pictured at left) was named the FCSAA Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 21. The
righthander from Senoia, Georgia, had a 0.00 ERA in two wins over Alabama Southern (11-0) and Walters State
(1-0). She allowed two hits in four innings with 5 strikeouts against Alabama Southern. She threw a complete
game three-hitter against Walters State with 8 strikeouts. For the week, she pitched 11 innings with five hits, only
one walk and 13 strikeouts.
The Lady Indians finished the 2015-16 season with a (50-15) record and an FCSAA State Championship.
They finished second in the NJCAA National Championship which they won in 2015.
Lady Indians Coach Belinda Hendrix picked up her 500th win last season. Hendrix and her Associate Head
Coach and husband Jimmy Hendrix lead the team along with Assistant Coach Kelly Brookins.

Chipola music instructor John Divine will Chipola Student Support Services recently hosted their
