MANUFACTURING

Summit Truck Bodies’ 132,000 square foot facility is centrally located in Wathena, Kansas, making it
convenient and cost effective to ship anywhere in North America.
Our core belief in being vertically integrated helps us
meet the demands for custom builds by manufacturing
the highest quality product while maintaining short lead
times and providing the best on-going support and

DESIGN
Our in-house design process begins with the use of computer aided 3-D design software and FEA
(finite element analysis) to ensure strength and reliability.

FABRICATION
Our fabrication process utilizes computer-aided fiber laser cutting machines and brake presses for
manufacturing proficiency.

For lighter applications, we offer the 7-Series service body which is designed for a 19,500 GVW chassis.
It can accept any crane up to a 6,000 lb. capacity and is constructed of 12 ga. galvannealed steel and
aluminum doors. It is an ideal option for those who require the additional maneuverability that a smaller
truck provides. Ease of use and flexibility make it an excellent choice for many fleets.

Our most popular model, the 8-Series service body can handle any job. Designed for a 26,000 GVW
chassis, the rugged 11’ body is constructed of 10 gauge galvannealed steel and aluminum doors. With

OPEN LUBE BODY

The Summit open lube truck allows you to perform
maintenance of your equipment at the job site. By
performing routine fluid changes in the field, you keep
your equipment generating revenue and on deadline, as
opposed to spending time at the shop and falling behind.
The Summit open lube truck uses heavy duty Permco
driven new oil delivery pumps and a Blackmer hydraulic
vane pump for fuel delivery. Our lube bodies come
standard with Lincoln hydraulic driven reciprocating
grease pumps, Hannay heavy duty spring and air rewind
hose reels, and Lincoln digitally metered nozzles. However, all of our lube trucks are custom built which
means we will build the truck to your exact spec utilizing the components you choose.

ENCLOSED LUBE BODY

The Summit enclosed lube truck can be insulated and heated to meet the needs of customers who want
to guard product tanks and workers from the elements when doing lube services in extreme conditions.
We typically use polyethylene tanks for new oil systems which reduces tank weight by 80 percent over
steel. Our enclosed lube trucks come standard with hydraulic gear-driven new oil delivery pumps, a Lincoln
hydraulic-driven reciprocating grease pump, Hannay heavy duty spring and air rewind hose reels and
Lincoln digital metered nozzles.

Summit’s truck mounted service cranes are designed to meet the demands of today’s heavy equipment
service industry. Whether deep in a mine or out on a construction site, our heavy duty cranes have a proven
track record for dependability. Through strength, reliability and safety, Summit Cranes get the job done.

Summit heavy duty electric and hydraulic telescopic service cranes feature lifting capacities
from 4,000 lbs to 14,000 lbs and a horizontal reach of up to 29 feet to provide the lifting capacity, power
and versatility needed for your application. Summit cranes are designed to ensure their safe operation with
every cylinder containing load cushioning counterbalance valves for precise load handling. Check valves on
lift cylinders prevent load drop if the hydraulic hose fails. An automatic overload protection system is built into
every crane to prevent the dangers associated with handling excessive loads.

READY FOR ANY APPLICATION

Summit Crane boom sections are manufactured out of
low- alloy high strength steel and have a hex design
for superior strength and reduced flex. They are
robotically welded and PPG powder coated for long
life and durable protection against harsh working and
weather environments. All Summit cranes are designed
using state of the art Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and
are strain gage tested to ensure structural integrity.
Each crane design is tested by an outside independent
organization to ensure it meets ANSI B30.5 and OSHA
1910.180.

Summit’s man basket attachment is designed for use with our service cranes. This easy to use attachment
can be incorporated into the body side-pack (as shown) or stored in the cargo area. This option increases the

SUMMIT DRAWER SYSTEMS

Summit Drawer Systems and bolt bins
are built stronger to last longer. Both are
available in either 14 Ga galvanized steel
or aluminum construction. Drawer sizes
are available in 3”, 5”, and 7” heights
and a full range of widths to fit in any
compartment. All drawers have hemmed
edges and 500 lb. roller bearing slides for durability. Lockable T-handles
and hidden latch assemblies provide confidence that your tools and parts are
safe and secure and our drawers are removable which makes it easy to take
tools to a job-site. The telescoping integrated top shelf with dividers, optional
egg-crating and work tray help make the most out of valuable space. Steel

why we offer our customers a team of factory trained service technicians and keep a large inventory of
replacement parts in stock. And when needed, we have a nationwide network of trusted service providers
who will perform service and warranty work in the field.

Our Parts Sales Department can provide you with factory parts
and preventative maintenance kits when you need them. They
can also assist with new drawer packs, service cranes, air
compressors and many other service truck accessories to make
sure you are well equipped to get the job done. Parts Sales may
