(NFRC) on the interior surfaces during cold winter months. Excess condensation causes damage to sheetrock and promotes the
growth of dangerous mold on interior surfaces. This property has become an important measurement recently, as some
manufacturers have begun to use double Low-E glazing, with one Low-E coating on the exposed Surface 4 (the interior surface
of inside glass) of the insulating glass package in order to improve the U-Factor number. While this practice does lower the
U-Factor of the window, it also lowers the CRF value of the window, which results in damaging levels of condensation
occurring in the colder autumn and winter months.

Air Filtration Air Filtration number is a measurement of the cubic volume of air that passes between a window frame and the sash, (NFRC) Fail: *0.31

artistic concepts based on the
‘form following function’ design

its intrinsic architectural design
and public use.

privacy between a bar area and
dining room, or between a mai-

This panel by Taqwa Glassworks
Studio’s Christie Andresen was created
for a completely remodeled modern
entertainment kitchen in Truro. Jason
Clairday of Jason Clairday Designs planned
the kitchen using light-as-air components
to offset the stone countertop and glass tile
wall treatments.
His cabinet glass proposal, submitted long
before the finish details of the kitchen were
completed, was a quick sketch with specific
design concepts. Color parameters and de-
sign details were chosen by the homeowners.
Using in-house art panels as inspiration for
the final design details, the combination of
ice white glass, hand frosted glass detail and
organic wire elements combined beautifully
to create these "random aspect" panels for
this section of the kitchen cabinets.
Careful placement of "highlight" glass, along
with its opposite, black amber glass, create
rich panels which are illuminated beautifully
with puck lights within the cabinet. This cre-
ates a lighted element in the kitchen, giving
warmth to the overall design.
