DAVID J FRISCHMANN

Marine Lance Corporal

As a member of the CMH Class of 1962, David was a wrestler all four
years and a letterman for three of those seasons.

The era of the Vietnam War was a tumultuous time for America
and for American young people. But, David Frischmann did
not flee from his duties. Instead of waiting to be drafted,
he volunteered for service in the U. S. Marine Corps.

David’s life on February 1, 1967 - just a few
months before his younger sister, Patricia,
would graduate from CMH. He was 22 years
old. He would be the first Catholic Memorial graduate to
make the ultimate sacrifice in service to country and
thus became the 24th name on the CMH Honor Roll.

In a letter to his parents, his captain wrote,

“David was one of the finest Marines I have
ever known. His exemplary conduct, leadership,
and singular determination to do every job well
were qualities that all of us respected.”
