Child is the father of man", the saying goes. the school readiness
Programme carried out in KV Bamangachi is about getting ready for
school .The child who leaves the home and enters the school should
find a comfortable new environment , to fill the gap between home
and school .The teacher here becomes a parent to comfort the child. The
objectives of this Programme are -

1.Overcoming the shyness
2.Enable the child to accept this school
3.Feel comfort in new environment.
4. learn to mix with other students
5.Make friends
6. Build confidence, Observation, self expansion
7.Become familiar with surroundings
8.Follow interaction
9.Identify and recognize.
10.listen carefully
11.Speak properly
12.Build self esteem early13.Ensure enjoy joyful learning
14.Enjoy his schooling.
ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT IN READINESS PROGRAMME

Discussions,
Demonstration,
Role play,
Film show,
Indoor and Outdoor games
Story telling
Introduction of teachers and children
Walk in a line to the assembly ground,
To encourage the children to reach the school in time,
To, recite the poems
Watch films
Listen to the rhymes CD
Go to the ground to play outdoor games

Visits all the places in the school
Activity sheets –draw ,join dots, trace the path etc., are given
Dance in group ,reciting

To ensure a smooth transition from the home environment to the
Primary school, a 'School Readiness Programme' of 6 weeks
duration has been developed and adopted. At the end of the
Programme the teacher may assess if the desired behavioral
outcome has been achieved in the following areas.
