Welcome

FmEeSsTsIaVAgLeINfFrOoRmMtAhTeIOmNayor

Welcome to Casper!
On behalf of all of us in
Casper, it’s my pleasure
to welcome you to the
Wyoming Eclipse Festival.
I hope your stay in our exceptional community
is full of adventure and fun.
There are dozens of activities, events and
exhibitions planned August 17th-21st, 2017. A
comprehensive list of things to do and see is
at www.eclipsecasper.com. As your schedule
allows, I invite you to tap into the spirit of our
community that we call WyoCity—a little bit
nature a little bit urban. Our brilliant blue skies,
wide-open spaces, world-class outdoor recrea-
tion opportunities combined with our unique
urban vibe where the arts, historic trails,
restaurants and shopping are alive. Many of our
most prized natural attractions are just a few
minutes’ drive from the center of the City giving
you a unique opportunity to create one-of-a-kind
memories for years to come.
Wherever the road takes you before or after this
event, we’re thrilled you’re here to experience
the Eclipse With us. Happy trails, and we hope
to see you again soon!
Sincerely,
Kenyne Humphrey
Mayor

Your eclipse memories should be some of the brightest of your life, so we want to provide a safe experience.

Because a huge part of this experience is looking into the sun, follow these rules to prevent serious eye damage or even blindness.

Never look directly into the sun without protection. Use any of the following: special eclipse glasses or

welder’s goggles rate 14 or higher specially designed solar telescopes or solar binoculars telescopes,

cameras and binoculars with approved solar filters or pinhole projector don’t forget, sunglasses do not provide

sufficient protection.

S A F E T Y.
When in Wyoming…
Remember that it’s windy! Daily wind
speeds gust at around 30 MPH,
sometimes even reaching 80 or more!
Enjoy the wild west, without a wild fire.
Unless otherwise posted, open fires are
not allowed. Please throw away smoking
materials properly + avoid parking in dry
grassy areas.
Denver’s not the only mile high city!
Casper’s elevation is nearly 6,000 ft!
Speaking of being high, marijuana is
illegal here. WYO doesn’t recognize
medical marijuana, either.
Altitude sickness can knock you down
faster than the speed of totality. Stay
hydrated, you’re in WYO’s dry + hot
season.
Soak up the sun BUT smother on the
sunscreen. There may be 2.5 minutes of
darkness, but we’ve got endless
sunshine.
Enjoy the wide open spaces in WYO, but
prepare. No seriously, pack some extra
food + water + fill up the gas tank. You
may not see signs of human life for
hundreds of miles.
Enjoying the lake or the river? Have a life
jacket, beware of freezing temps +
obey all rules/regulations.

THE WYOMING ECLIPSE FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE WAS CREATED FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT.

30 WYOMING Eclipse Festival

The City of Casper +
safety partners wish you
a safe solar experience!

Depending on what part of Wyoming
you’re visiting, a traffic jam may just
consist of Buffalo and Long Horn
Sheep. Whether behind a Antelope or
an Audi, drive with caution, watch for
cars, bikes + pedestrians + always
wear your seatbelt.
Can you hear us now? Possibly not.
WYO prides itself on open spaces,
which could equate to lack of cell
service.
Crack open in a cold one – but only in
designated drinking areas. Casper
enforces open container laws + public
intoxication laws.

Bringing Fido to the festival? Just keep
him on a leash.
Be smart. Don’t leave valuables in
unsecured tents, lock your vehicles
including campers + put your valuables
out of site. Oh, and only camp in
designated campgrounds.
Keep an eye out for emergency
vehicles while traveling. Slow down or
move into the other lane when
possible.

IN CASE OF AN EMEGENCY, CALL 911.

FOR NON-EMERGENCIES, CALL 307.235.8278

PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF ALL LOCAL RULES, REGULATIONS + CASPER RESIDENTS.
