The Rebbe’s legacy of unconditional love of people knows no bounds.
To the Rebbe, they all belonged. He made everyone feel at home.
To the Rebbe, there are no divisions among the Jewish People.
Every Jew is family.
Jewish unity is not a slogan, a wish or a promise – it is a reality.
It is his message of Jewish unity, “that not one of us is complete unless
all of us are included,” that goes to the very core and essence of the
Rebbe’s leadership.
It is this concept that motivates and is the core of
Chabad Lubavitch of the Main Line.

WHAT IS
CHABAD LUBAVITCH?

Chabad Lubavitch is the world’s largest and fastest growing network of Jewish
educational centers open to “all Jews, all the time” regardless of religious affiliation or level
of knowledge. The objective is to create a warm welcoming atmosphere for Jews to explore
and experience their heritage in a welcoming, non-judgmental environment.

It was founded in the 18th century in the Russian city of Lubavitch, meaning “City of
Love”. The movement’s system of Jewish religious philosophy, the deepest dimension of
G-d’s Torah, teaches understanding and recognition of the Creator, the role and purpose of
Creation, and the importance and unique mission of each creature.This philosophy guides a
person to refine and govern his and her every act and feeling through wisdom (chochmah),
comprehension (binah) and knowledge (da’at – thus the acronym Chabad).

Lubavitch is best known for its work in educational outreach with its warm, non-
judgmental attitude towards Jews of all backgrounds and affiliations. With more than 3,500
centers worldwide, Lubavitch has changed the landscape of Jewish pride and identity in
communities around the globe.

Chabad Lubavitch of the Main Line is founded on the principle that, while Jews embrace
many levels of observance in their pesonal lives, there should be a place for all Jews — no
labels, no “affiliations.” We develop a sense of community and enhance the experience of
being Jewish. We have catered to thousands of families from all backgrounds, offering Jewish
educational programming in an accepting and innovative setting where all feel welcome. The
Rabbis, their wives, and the entire Lubavitch staff work tirelessly to create children’s programs,
adult education, classes, seminars, Shabbat programs, women’s gatherings and more. The
goal is to create a positive Jewish experience for everyone as they strengthen their ties to the
Jewish community.

CHABAD OF THE
MAIN LINE

Through a dazzling array of programs, thousands of Jews of all ages and backgrounds
are experiencing first-hand the sincerity and warmth that is the hallmark of the
Chabad-Lubavitch movement. The community needs a vibrant environment for all to
feel part of, regardless of whether or not you belong to a synagogue or other Jewish
organization. The Main Line is home to over 20,000 Jewish residents, including
many young families and thousands of Jewish children. It represents one of the
strongest foundations of the greater Philadelphia Jewish community and is home to
much of its future leadership and growth.

Since 1999, Chabad of the Main Line has emerged as one of this area’s most dynamic,
vibrant and innovative Jewish family centers. Starting as a small store front on Montgomery
Avenue, Chabad has grown to become one of the most popular Jewish resources in the
region, and is now housed at the General Wayne Inn.

Our innovative programs help parents transmit Jewish values to the next link in the
chain of Jewish history and destiny.
