This is Green Country. Our area is located in Northeast Oklahoma, roughly bordering I-35 and Ponca City on the west, to the

state line on the east, and from Lake Eufaula and I-40 on the south, to the state line on the north. Got that picture now?
People ask “Why is it called Green Country?”
There’s no secret. Someone named Green didn’t discover the area. It isn’t “new” as green might indicate. We’re not Green with
envy. We are simply beautiful and green in color, that’s it! Our area is sprinkled with lakes and more lakes; some are big, some
not so much. But there’s plentiful water for all sorts of fun.
The following pages will whisk you through Green Country. We’ll introduce you to our many communities, some quaint, some
dynamic and some historic. They are located in three distinct regions within Green Country – Great Lakes, Foothills and High
Plains, check out the map below.
