Semester  BREAK

 Here at SCC you are not required to leave during collegiate breaks. 
 Please note the following changes during the break: 
    *  Service Desk 1 will be open 24 hours a day to serve the needs of all
SCC Residents: Thursday, December 21st at noon through Friday, January
19th at noon.  
    *  Service Desk 3 and Service Desk 6 will be closed.
    *  All packages received during this period will be claimed at Service
Desk 1. Apartment mailboxes will be serviced by the U.S. Postal Service
except for 12/25/17 and 1/1/18. 
    *  Spare keys and swipe cards for all SCC buildings may be borrowed
from the Service Desk.

contact the RA On-Duty,

call Service Desk 1 at (301) 226-0001.

January 2018 Payment Update

Due to the holiday break, paper checks and money orders
submitted via drop box and mail between December 23rd

and January 2nd will likely be delayed in posting. All
payments could also experience withdraw delays due to

the bank holiday schedules. The posting of electronic
payments will not be affected. This may be a great time to

sign up for automatic withdrawals through the resident

Residential Improvements 

We have various projects scheduled for the winter break throughout
our community. Please watch your emails carefully as we will

communicate with residents accordingly on a case by case situation with
timeline and details. Thank you for your cooperation in advance.

Winter Maintenance

During the colder months of the
year, your apartment’s heating

system will keep you
comfortably warm set at 68º.
When you are away on weekends
or holidays, it is advised to set your

thermostat at 60º .
For Buildings 1 &2, please set your
thermostat to the  low fan speed

position when away.
In the event you are experiencing
any heating issues, please submit a
work order so that we can service
your apartment to ensure you are

comfortable in your home.

Then renew your lease for another year!
Here's how:

On December 6, 5 - 7 p.m., we will hold a Renewal Open House in the
Leasing Office, which is located in SCC Building 6. Attend the Renewal
Open House to learn everything you need to know about renewing your

lease and living at SCC again in the 2018-2019 lease year. 

In January, 2018, your Renewal Intention Form will be
available on the Commons/Courtyards Portal of

MyDRL. Your intent to renew/stay at SCC is due at
4pm on February 7, 2018, so don't delay!

Important information, including 2018-2019 rates,
will be released in January 2018 in the halls, on our website,
and on social media, so be on the lookout after Winter Break!

Traveling During
Winter Break?

Here are some tips to avoid
bringing home unwanted
guests:

1. Pack for protection. Bring
a large plastic trash bag or
two and store your suitcase

in to keep bedbugs out.
2. Inspect your room. Don’t

unpack immediately.
3. Store your belongings

safely.
4. Look before you repack.

Before you pack your
belongings to leave, double-
check your bags and clothes

for signs of bedbugs.
5. Kill ’em off at home.
