6TH ANNUAL FROST FEST EMBRACES
NEW EVENTS IN 2020
Inflatables, Persian Night, and a Painting Date add to the Community-wide Celebration
The Brookings Convention & Visitors Bureau, along with local attrac- tions, businesses, and organizations are planning four full days of win- ter activities for the 6th Annual Frost Fest. This year’s event will take place Thursday through Sunday, February 13-16, 2020 at various in- door and outdoor locations throughout the Brookings community. Many of the events are offered at no or low cost.
Frost Fest is adding a variety of new events to celebrate the season and embrace the chill. An indoor winter extravaganza, featuring bouncy houses, glow-in-the-dark dodgeball, and a wide variety of interactive inflatables will take place at the Swiftel Center, with a portion of pro- ceeds benefitting the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains. The Brookings Arts Council is introducing a couple’s date night of dessert and painting. Downtown Brookings is offering a few ways to embrace your cozy side with Hygge Night. Café Coteau is hosting an evening of international flair with Persian Night. And the Brookings County Out- door Adventure Center is opening both ranges free of charge for a par- ent/child day date.
Frost Fest is held annually on the third weekend in February and is made possible by the following partners: Brookings Arts Council, South Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museum, Brookings Farmers Market, Children’s Museum of South Dakota, McCrory Gardens, Brookings Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department, Prairie Striders Running Club, Downtown Brookings, Brookings Cinema 8 Movie Theatre, Mid- west Maidens Roller Derby, Brookings County Outdoor Adventure Center, Swiftel Center, Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains, Tee’d Off Golf Simulators, and the Brookings Convention & Visitors Bureau.
A full schedule of events is located on the Brookings CVB website, https://visitbrookingssd.com/

Philosopher and writer Bertrand Russell, regarding God, was an ag- nostic and one who was in reality a Humanist. That he was married four times reflects he had no regard for lifelong monogamous mar- riage. He wrote, “All moral rules must be tested by examining whether they tend to realize ends that we desire. I say ends that we de- sire, not ends that we ought to desire” indicating his whimsical desires were his moral guide. His daughter wrote of his philandering – “Hav- ing given up strict monogamy with the end of his first marriage, he no longer felt any need to restrict his affections, which he distributed most liberally throughout the rest of his life.” Russell was his own god. Humanism leads to the breakdown of society by destroying the stable family mandated by God (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6).
The progress of Humanism upon our thinking and the erosion of marriage and family is readily evident. No fault divorce laws begin- ning in 1969. Acceptance of homosexuality along side heterosexual- ity began in1970 and now legitimized in homosexual marriage (2015).
In this same decade of easy divorce, birth control pills reduced the fear of out of wedlock pregnancy and essentially shameless promis- cuity. The incidence of STDs are the evidence of a licentious society. A 1978 Los Angeles Times article with the headline “Venereal Dis- ease of New Morality: Sexual Sore Spot That’s Spreading.” In 1982 (Aug 2), Time’s cover called Herpes, “Today’s Scarlet Letter.” Time’s cover in 1985 (Aug 12) was “Aids: The Growing Threat.” Utter sex- ual license is pronounced by STDs.
That homosexual marriage was made legal, simply culturalized ho- mosexuality as acceptable, yea, anormal alternative. In effect, God’s standard of lifelong monogamous heterosexual marriage was trashed. Once God is out of the way, it’s a depraved sinful free for all.... with utterly terrible consequences.
Unwin’s study (1934) of 86 civilizations regarding their existence and progress revealed those with no restrictions on sexual activities were primitive. The most highly developed had strict theological stan- dards including the virtue that sex only occurs within one-man/ one- woman marriage. Premarital and extramarital sex are not tolerated and divorce is prohibited. Humanism is destroying us. There is more!
