Estrella Children are Precious to the Lord

Association I walked into the children’s classroom at Ajo Calvary
Baptist Church and joined them at the table as Mrs.
OFFICE Margot Bissell was teaching. It was a joy to listen to the

children as they interacted with their teacher. Mrs.
7901 W. OSBORN Bissell has invested her life to teach them about Jesus.
RD. PHOENIX, AZ I can only imagine the conversation that Jesus had with
children as they would run and hang around him. I could

ESTRELLA I met with several children’s leaders in our association to

March-ing onward Christian Soldiers!

By God's grace, The Edge Church was launched last Sunday, February 12,
2017 in the Buckeye / Verrado area of West Phoenix. We had lots of new
people from the community and planter Matt Jacobsen started a series from
Colossians on getting to know Jesus.
Church planting work...I believe...is the SMILE of God.

Check out these pictures and praise the Lord with us! Pray that His Spirit would
keep drawing people to Himself...and pray lives would be transformed by Christ.
Pray for people to return the next few weeks and to invite their friends.

What’s it like to experience persecution firsthand?

What’s it like for a new believer to come to Christ and lose his family, his
job and to be exiled from their village. The environment in many parts of
Southeast Asia is not a safe one for believers, but in spite of that God is
really on the move touching hearts and changing many lives.

Join us for a night to engage the community of Southeast Asia with IMB
Missionary of Sumatra and Pastor Amit Singh of SE India. Both speakers
will be sharing about the challenge of reaching their country for Christ and
yet the big opportunities to make an impact.

Would you like your church to have a personal relationship with a
missionary overseas and develop a relationship with a sister church in a
developing country?
Here is the chance for that to happen. We are planning some vision trips to
Sumatra in the fall and in 2018. A Small group of 3 to 5 people spending a
week in Sumatra where they will do prayer walking, worship with local
churches, explore opportunities to help train church workers and experience
what God is doing in Indonesia.

The benefits of this opportunity for our churches in our association to partner
with churches in Indonesia cannot be measured. Would you pray about you
or someone from your church going on one of these vision trips?

 Women’s Conference 2017

Sponsored by First Southern Baptist Church
of Buckeye, the Estrella Baptist Association,
and the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention,
this year’s Women’s Day Conference was a
success. Gary Dodrill asked me to share my
story of “A Woman Who Turns God’s Head.”
We invited women from all over the Valley to
come and learn what God finds beautiful in a
woman and leave content with who He
created you to be. Over 200 women and
teenage girls answered the invitation and
great things happened! Comments from the
day consisted of words like… “Great day;
AMAZING; good time of worship; wonderful
food; life changing; must do this again!”

The Lord showed Himself faithful by taking
care of all of the details of such a big event.
Amy Gerak and the Grace Fellowship Band
led us all in worshipping the Lord in spirit
and truth. The worship dance ministry
consisting of girls grades 3rd through 8th grade
and led by Amber Brown demonstrated
worship to the Lord in a beautifully
orchestrated dance. We all enjoyed the
wonderful taco bar provided by a team led by
Rose Majors. And many door prizes were
awarded.

Women’s Conference 2017


 The heart of my message was a lesson on

worship. God is seeking worshippers
according to John 4:23. To continue this
message beyond the Women’s Day, I have
started a blog. It’s still under construction
but promises to provide more biblical
lessons on how we can be women who turn
God’s head. Soon I will post the three
video sessions from the Women’s Day! If

I’m thankful to the Arizona Southern
Baptist Convention and the Estrella Baptist
Association for so generously supporting

who chooses to use people to further His
truths! To Him be the glory forever and

March-ing 2 Share Christ

IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS!

Several Estrella Baptist Association churches are partnering with
Southwestern Theological Seminary for the Crossover evangelism
week. Tuesday, June 6 through Saturday, June 10 we will be walking
door to door in our communities with seminary students from Texas
to share the Good News of Christ Jesus.

Over 90 churches on the west side of Phoenix have completed
training to participate in Harvest America. If you are still interested
in attending or having a live-stream, please register at
www.HarvestAmerica.com.

Pastor Greg Laurie is the featured speaker at this year’s Good
Friday breakfast at the WigWam Resort. I pray you will consider how
your church can participate in reaching the lost right here in our own
backyards.

Would you like to step out of your comfort zone this summer and be part of an
exciting ministry outreach bringing hope to people who face very different
pressures…people affected by disability?

Joni and Friends Family Retreat provides an opportunity for you to serve as a
short-term missionary to families affected by disability with Christ-like
encouragement and friendship.

Family Retreat is July 11-16, 2017 at Bison Ranch Retreat Center in Heber-
Overgaard, Arizona just 2.5 hours northeast of Phoenix!

STM’s must be at least 17 years old and the cost is $460 which includes housing,
meals, training and activities for the week.
