The GLI Story
THE IDEA
- Various Investment opportunities present in Lebanon today;
- Lebanese Businessmen mark success stories both in Lebanon and all around the world;
- Lebanese Diaspora reaches around 14 million versus the 4 million in Lebanon (Assets to the
Country)
- The Federation of Chambers in Lebanon (FCCIAL) is working on new ways to promote the
sustainable growth in the Lebanese economy especially in lights of the difficult economic situation.
GLI Established!
For all the above reasons, the Federation proudly established the Global Lebanese Investors (GLI)
as an independent association which includes the leading Lebanese investors in Lebanon and all
around the globe.
What is GLI?
GLI is built to be the strongest network between the Lebanese investors in Lebanon & worldwide:
- NOT another Lebanese community or association for social purposes,
- Primary focus: investment opportunities
- A network that brings together the successful Lebanese investors and provides them with a
platform of investment opportunities from which they can choose to take part in.
- Establishment of specific funds for upcoming projects to be offered for GLI members to take part in
at their convenience
GLI is governed through:
- Its local “’Chapter Lebanon” – target of 100 members
- International chapters all around the world- target of 900 members, in regions where Lebanese
investors are well present.
Vision
To become the strongest network capable of adequately representing Lebanese
businessmen who will play a major role in bringing Lebanon back as an
economic capital in the region; and building strong alliances between Lebanese
businessmen in Lebanon and abroad.

The role of GLI is to establish a network of successful Lebanese Investors starting by
attracting the local Lebanese leaders in the business world who make an impact on the
community and inspire and motivate the upcoming generations by example.
This local network will constitute “Chapter Lebanon” which will set the ground rules and
plans for the various other chapters worldwide.
Target: 100 registered members
Current Status: 72 registered members to date
International Chapters
International Chapter will include Lebanese investors from around the globe who are well
known for their success stories.
Each Chapter:
• Contain groups of members within defined geographic areas.
• Has a president that will work closely with its members through regular meetings in
which they will set their calendar of events as per the needs of its members.
These events will provide a platform for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and further
networking allowing for the multiplication of each member’s resources and the enriching of
their social and economic lives.

GLI Objectives
GLI supports its members through:
• Facilitating the establishment of investment funds between the Lebanese
residing in Lebanon and abroad;
• Providing a platform for entering the public sector in Lebanon with development
projects within the legislative framework provided by the laws and regulations
that sponsor PPP especially in lights of the Cedre funds provided for the private
sector support;
• Building and sharing a database on promising investment opportunities and
developing preliminary studies for which members share their findings;
• Supporting, protecting, promoting and expanding the interests and objectives of
Lebanese investors;

• Providing accurate analyses on the investment environment in global markets.
• Assessing the effects of economic measures imposed by host investment countries on
Lebanese economic interests;
• Acting as a link between the council members and governmental bodies to serve the best
interests of the national economy;
• Providing governmental entities with opinions and suggestions on policies, agreements and
laws relating to international investments.

range of activities that aim to promote the Lebanese investment opportunities in Lebanon
and abroad
ESTABLISHING A NETWORK FOR PROMOTING
INVESTMENT
To help promote investment environment in Lebanon and supporting the
Lebanese investors around the globe, GLI is working on building real bridges
with:
- Government agencies,
- Major investment companies,
- Similar councils worldwide.
This will allow the council to act as a major platform that undertakes the
continuous communication with Lebanese investors and to become the
economic and investment platform that contributes to strengthening the
national economy.

Forum held in Abu Dhabi on the 5th
of December, 2018.

The signed MoU will support the cooperation between both countries in
order to develop the economic relationship and provide businessmen in
Lebanon and UAE with the proper information, expertise, training, and
opportunities for better investment environment.
The UAE International Investors Council brings together UAE
international investors and coordinates action amongst them. Its
members have the opportunity to support investment decision-making
as well as economic and political decision-makers at both economic and
political levels in the UAE. The UAE Cabinet provides the moral support to
the Council represented in approving the establishment.
Electronic Platform – Businessmen Directory
GLI will provide its members with a platform to meet each other and
explore various possible joint ventures available through its search
directory on its website.
The website directory will allow the GLI members to search by Name,
Business Sector, and Country in order to find other Lebanese inventors
worldwide.
