know physicians across the state and learn about the role of the physician in the policy
making process. As the medical field changes, it is important for medical students to
understand how they can get involved and learn more about legislation. Joining MAG and
taking part in activities such as the Annual Poster Presentation is a great way to network with
fellow medical students from different campuses while presenting new and exciting research
going on across Georgia.”

Reasons for joining MAG MSS: “The Medical Association of Georgia offers a voice to those
who hope to do more with the knowledge they've acquired. Additionally, it brings together
many brilliant minds who can work together to discuss current controversies as well as
establish new possibilities in the directions of medicine and policy. The first House of
Delegates (HOD) meeting I attended amazed me. It opened my eyes to the issues beyond
medical school – the issues that impact both physicians and patients alike. Representing
medical students as a delegate is truly an honor.”
