Luke Boyer Hey I’m Luke! I graduated from Ohio State last
year with a degree in Theoretical Mathematics
Leads: Young Life and a Business minor. Now I work for
CoverMyMeds downtown! I have led Young
Background Check ✔ Life in Grandview for 5 years and every
Attends: Scarlet City Church moment has been a privilege. I grew up in
Instagram: lsboyer13 Upper Arlington and started going to Young
Life when my soccer coach invited me to
come my freshman year. I grew up going to
church and there is not a time I can remember
when I did not believe Jesus was God. I
simply didn’t know or care why that mattered.
Especially why that mattered to me. During
high school, the Lord gave me ears to hear
the Gospel in a way I never had and I knew it
was what I had been searching for my entire
life. I lead Young Life now because it changed
the trajectory of my life. My leader loved me in
ways nobody else had and taught me how to
follow Jesus and how to chase life to the full. It
has been so fun getting to be a part of that
process in the lives of Grandview students.

Katie McKearin Hi! My name is Katie, and I am a current
junior at Ohio State studying Exercise
Leads: Young Life Science with the pursuit of Physical
Therapy. I am from Cincinnati, and have
Background Check ✔ lived in Columbus for the past two years
Approved School Volunteer in process to go to school and to be involved in the
Attends: Awaken Church Grandview community. I am involved with
Instagram: kmckearin97 Young Life as one of the leaders at the
high school, and have loved my time here
so far. I was first introduced to Young Life
when I was in high school myself, and it
was in this space that I finally felt a sense
of being able to be myself and let my
guard down among peers and friends.
Something felt refreshing about my time
at Young Life, and that was due to the
fact that the love of Jesus was there.
Since then, my life has never been the
same in the best way possible, and I am
still here because I think every person
deserves the opportunity to know how
loved they actually are.

Evan Duncan My name is Evan and I am a fourth year
studying Logistics Management and Econ at
Leads: Young Life OSU! I have been leading at GHHS for close
to 3 years and have helped as a coach on the
Background Check ✔ varsity baseball team for the past 2 seasons. I
Attends: Scarlet City Church graduated from Dublin Coffman where I first
Instagram: eduncan_24 went to Young Life as a freshman. I kept my
distance because I was worried that God
wouldn’t take me after all of the things I had
done wrong. Throughout high school and my
first year of college my friends continued to
seek me out and bring me to their small
groups where I learned and began to
understand God’s grace and his love for me. I
chose to lead because I wanted to enter into
that space with high schoolers and unpack
what it looks like to be loved unconditionally
by God.

Julie Myers My name is Julie Myers and I am a
second year Neuroscience/Pre-Medicine
Leads: Young Life major at Ohio State. I’m from a small
town about an hour west of Columbus
Background Check ✔ named South Charleston and I went to
Attends: City Campus Church Southeastern High, a school very similar
Instagram: jmyerss_17 in size to Grandview Heights. In high
school, I knew who Christ was, but
Young Life helped me to find a deeper,
much more meaningful relationship with
Him. I felt a deep, completely
unconditional love unlike any I had ever
known. I lead because I want others to
experience the incomparable love and
absolute joy I have. I lead because I
hope to bring others to a relationship
with Christ so they may know they are
undoubtedly irreplaceable, entirely
noticed, and fully loved.

Bobby Hamilton My name is Bobby Hamilton, I am an Associate
Financial Planner at Hamilton Capital
Leads: Young Life Management. I grew up in Upper Arlington,
Ohio and have recently moved back to the area.
Background Check ✔ I graduated from Miami University with a
Attends: Scarlet City Church Bachelor’s in Finance in 2016. After school, I
Instagram: bobbyhamil10 moved to Dayton, Ohio where I continued to
lead Young Life at Springboro High School
before returning to Columbus. I led at
Springboro for 5 ½ years. I started as a leader
at Grandview High School this August. The
reason I lead Young Life is because it provides
a platform that introduces Jesus Christ to kids
that is very relatable. I met the Lord through
Young Life in High School because a brave and
willing Young Life leader sacrificed his personal
life and time to spend time with me. He chose
me over himself. Christ chose to use my Young
Life leader to display his love. I lead because
Christ has asked me to do the same thing,
spend time caring about those He loves.

Georgie Frericks Hi hello, my name is Georgie! I am a fourth year
studying Strategic Communications with a minor in
Leads: Young Life Leadership Studies at OSU and have been leading
Young Life for nearly 3 years now. Previously I have
Background Check ✔ also volunteered as assistant cheerleading coach at
Attends: One Church GHHS. I graduated from Upper Arlington HS, which
Instagram: georgiefrericks is where I was introduced to Young Life. I grew up
in the Catholic Church, but it wasn’t until my
freshmen year where I started a personal
relationship with Jesus. It changed my life. Young
Life, from that point forward, acted as a tool to
provide me community, genuine fellowship, and
opportunities to grow in my walk with Christ. I
quickly realized that everyone around me has a
deep desire to be wanted, loved and accepted
unconditionally. I found this kind of love in my
relationship with God, and was exemplified this
same acceptance through my peers at Young Life. I
want others to have the opportunity to to hear and
be shown the Gospel just as much as I did in high
school. It has been beyond life-giving to serve as a
Young Life leader in Grandview, and I hope for
many more years to come!

Kathleen Cress Hi my name is Kathleen Cress and I’m going to
be starting my 5th year as the Health and
Leads: WyldLife Wellness teacher here in Grandview at the
middle school. I grew up in Upper Arlington
Background Check ✔ and graduated from Miami University in
Approved School Volunteer ✔ Exercise Science and then went on to Capital
Attends: Five14 Church University where I got my teaching license. I
currently live in UA with my husband and we
are expecting a baby boy in November (our
first!). I grew up going to church and I was very
active in my youth ministry at First Community
Church and participated in Young Life a bit in
high school. I choose to lead because of all the
relationships and mentors in my youth who
guided and supported me through my
relationship with Christ. Middle school can be
such a hard time and I know at times I felt lost,
but knowing that I had space where people
cared about me no matter what and reminded
me that Jesus loved made such a difference. I
hope to serve as that connector between kids
and Jesus.

Mason Kamer Hello, my name is Mason Kamer and I lead
Wyldlife at the Grandview middle school. I
Leads: WyldLife am currently a sophomore at Columbus
State Community College and am majoring
Background Check ✔ in Public Health. I graduated from Canal
Approved School Volunteer ✔ Winchester High School in 2017 and that is
Attends: 614 Church also where I began doing Young Life.
Instagram: mason_kamer Through Young Life I met Christ for the first
time and experienced him in a real and
authentic way that went against everything I
previously assumed about God and his
followers. I’m a leader to give what has
been given to me, life to the full. I’m super
excited for these next couple years to be
able to show Christ’s love like it was meant
to be displayed.

Maddie Fuller Maddie
Hi my name is Maddie Fuller! I’m a second
Leads: WyldLife year at Ohio State. I am a Pre-Nursing Major
with a Minor in Pharmaceutical Sciences. I
Background Check ✔ graduated from Olentangy Orange High
Approved School Volunteer ✔ School in 2017. I was placed at Grandview
Attends: LifePoint Lewis Center Heights Wyldlife in March of 2018. In high
Instagram: maddiegfuller_111 school, I attended my first Young Life Event
and started a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ. My life was completely changed 5 years
ago when my Leader invested in my life. It’s a
friendship that changed my life for the better.
I’m so excited about Wyldlife this upcoming
school year. It’s turning out to be one of my
very best adventures. I can’t wait for all that
God had planned in the city of Grandview.

Stephanie Hollar Young Life provides a local, faith-based opportunity for
interested youth to get involved, ask questions and seek
Parent/Community answers about life, explore what the bible has to say and
Support then decide for themselves how they feel about it. That’s
one thing I love about Young Life, simply, it’s an
opportunity. My name is Stephanie Hollar, I am in the
Parent/Community Support leader for Grandview Heights
Young Life and Wyldlife. I said “yes” to this role in the fall
of 2017 because I want all interested youth to have the
opportunity to hear about God’s amazing love for them
and others. On a personal level, I deeply value the
mentorship the leaders provide for my own kids as they
navigate life.

Approved School Volunteer ✔ I serve with a team of 14 other GH parents and
Attends: Cypress Wesleyan Church community members. Our team exists to: inform the
Alton Darby community so students, families and even community
[email protected] members that are interested can be as involved as they’d
like, support our leaders and unite those in the
community who wish to be involved.

Who comes to Young Life events? A lot of imperfect
people from all walks of life who do not have it all figured
out. If you want to get involved, contact me!
