Committee/Description Leadership
Arts and Letters 2nd VP
Develops a Chapter program that fulfills the National Commission of
Arts and Letter’s mission to “Boldly Advance the Black Experience
through Arts & Letters.”
Building Development President
Maintains oversight responsibility for the Chapter’s Headquarters. Also
develops goals and objectives for the Chapter’s approval toward a
self-sustaining Chapter Headquarters.
Chapel Service/Brunch President
Chaired by the Chaplain, coordinates the Chapter’s annual “Call to
Chapel” at Howard University and a reception or brunch afterwards.
Collegiate Transition Taskforce (CTT) 1st VP
Serves as a liaison between the Chapter and the collegiate Chapters
in the Washington, DC area and strives to create activities to ease
collegiate sorors’ transition into an alumnae chapter.
Community Forum and Scholarship Ceremony 3rd VP
Plans the annual Community Forum and Scholarship Ceremony (Public
Meeting) where the Chapter’s programs are highlighted and youth
scholars are recognized. Also responsible for the election process for
the Eliza Pearl Shippen and Florence Letcher Toms Awards that are
announced as part of the forum.
Community Mobilization 2nd VP
Plans Project 13 initiatives as well as Comcast Cares Day. Identifies
and recommends community outreach projects in which the Chapter
can participate as a group.
Delta Dear Outreach 1st VP
Serves the needs of the Delta Dears and contacts Delta Dears who are
unable to attend or participate in sorority activities but wish to
maintain a relationship with members of the Chapter.
Distinguished Men Cookin’ with the Deltas 3rd VP
Plans, executes, and evaluates the annual community fundraiser,
showcasing the culinary skills of home-grown amateur chefs, the
finest skilled chefs and renowned distinguished professionals.

EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for 2nd VP
Developing Independence)
Helps develop and enhance academic and co-curricular programs
addressing the unique challenges facing African American males and
creates environments that encourage them to be smart, well-rounded,
active, and generous.
Emergency Preparedness 1st VP
Increases emergency training to members of the Chapter and provides
structured and systematic training for the membership’s Readiness,
Response, and Recovery efforts.
Financial Fortitude 2nd VP
Helps the community and sorors develop financial plans and goals for
learning to manage all aspects of their personal finances to realize
personal wealth and financial security.
Founders Day President
Plans the Chapter’s Founders Day Celebration in which responsibilities
include but is not limited to site selection, type of event (open vs.
closed), speaker, theme, and budget.
Fundraising and Resource Committee 3rd VP
Devises, recommends, and executes Chapter-approved fundraisers for
increasing income to support Chapter programs and scholarships.
GEMS Growing & Empowering Myself Successfully) 2nd VP
Provides the framework for African American, at-risk, adolescent girls
aged 14-18 to actualize dreams through the performance of specific
tasks that develop a CAN DO attitude.
Healthy Lifestyles 2nd VP
Plans activities to impact not only the well-being of sorors but also
the well-being of African American families and communities at large
by addressing the challenges of living holistic and healthy lives.
Information, Technology & Communications President
Combines the previously separate Technology, Public Relations/PR,
and Journalist functions and has responsibility for all aspects of the
Chapter’s website and secured site; listserv administration and social
media accounts; training and technological support to the Chapter and
recommending new technologies to enhance Chapter operations; PR
support; and preparation of newsletters, eblasts, and other forms of
communications.

International Awareness 2nd VP
Seeks to increase cultural awareness in the local communities as well
as internationally and have an impact in the international community
and make the world a better place by conducting service projects to
benefit those in need.
Membership Services 1st VP
Performs functions related to activities of membership, reclamation
and retention of members of the Chapter to include enhancing the
relationship of Delta Dears and collegiates with alumnae members in
addition to collaboration with the National Membership Services
Committee and Regional & State Committee Chairs/Coordinators.
My Cry in the Dark 2nd VP
Develops initiatives to elevate awareness of mental health disorders
that African American families face; and aims to educate youth and
families about the racial disparities in consumers seeking mental
health care and to dispel the negative stigma associated with mental
health services.
Operation Sisterhood President
Serves the Chapter by extending courtesies to sorors during events
with special significance; greets new and visiting sorors during and
after Chapter meetings; and makes arrangements for refreshments for
meetings.
Partnerships and Grants 3rd VP
Researches and recommends potential partnerships to help with the
execution of Chapter programs, fundraising, and activities; and
assists with the development and submission of grants for funding.
Policies and Procedures President
Reviews and recommends revisions to the Rules of Order and the
Policies and Procedures Manual to the Executive Board and the
Chapter; and receives, reviews and recommends changes to the
National Constitution and Bylaws Committee.
Risk Management 2nd VP
Adheres to the National Risk Management Committee guidelines/the
Risk Management Manual to ensure that sorors and other volunteers
administer youth initiatives consistently and in a manner that is in the
best interest of both the participating youth and Delta.

Committee/Description Leadership
Ritual and Ceremonies President
Coordinates Chapter rituals and ceremonies and works to increase
members’ knowledge and appreciation of the Sorority’s fundamental
principles and traditions as demonstrated in our Ritual, ceremonies,
rites and protocol.
Scholarship 2nd VP
Administers the Chapter’s scholarship program, which includes
designing and/or updating and distributing a scholarship application to
designated audiences as well as recommending recipients for the
Chapter’s scholarships to be presented at the Community Forum and
Scholarship Ceremony.
Social Action 2nd VP
Recommends opportunities for social action activities, projects and
programs in the community to educate the membership and those
served on current social and political issues; and supports and
promotes the activities of the National Social Action Commission,
including Delta Days in the Nation’s Capital.
Strategic Planning and Assessment President
Develops and issues a Chapter assessment for the development of a
five-year strategic plan for WDCAC.
