Temple Menorah Keneseth

Philadelphia Police arrested a
13-year-old boy on March 27 in
connection with a recent rock-
throwing incident that broke a
window at Temple Menorah

He was seen on surveillance
video and confessed, according
to Lt. Dennis Rosenbaum of the
15th District.

Preliminary charges include
possession of an instrument of
crime, criminal mischief and
institutional vandalism, Rosen-
baum said. As a juvenile, he can-

sent to a juvenile facility. In
addition, his parents may be
subject to pay restitution for the

When questioned, the boy
denied involvement in either of
the two previous rock-throwing
incidents at the synagogue, Rosen-
baum said, noting that police are

Yeshiva University’s commitment to ensuring that all students can enjoy an uplifting
Torah education and a fulfilling college experience includes distributing $42 million
in scholarships and financial assistance, benefiting 80% of students. Unlike most
universities, YU’s financial aid office considers parents’ obligations to pay yeshiva
tuition for siblings.

Achieving their academic and spiritual goals is why YU students meet with outstanding
success. Applying to graduate programs and entering their chosen careers, 94%
(44 students) were admitted to medical school, 96% (27 students) to dental school
and 100% (60 students) to law school in the past year.

Applications Now Being Accepted for Israel360 VIP

The Jewish FederaTion of Greater Philadelphia is once again hosting Israel360 — a 10-day adventure to Israel. This year’s Israel360 VIP program will
travel to Israel from July 1-10, 2017. As in the previous trips, Israel360 VIP will have yearlong activities, with pre- and post-Israel networking and programming,
but this year’s trip will have VIP upgrades. Community members ages 27 to 40 who are looking to connect more deeply to Israel and the Greater Philadelphia
Jewish community are welcome to apply.

This VIP experience in Israel is fully subsidized by the Jewish Federation. Included in the trip are hotels, meals, on-ground travel, a tour guide, programs,
entertainment, tips and subsidized airfare valued at approximately $900. Participants are asked to contribute $1,000 toward the cost of their round-trip airfare
and to make a meaningful contribution to the Jewish Federation’s 2017 Jewish Community Fund.

New this year: While there will be a dedicated Philadelphia Israel360 VIP bus, the group will join the Jewish Federations of North America’s National Young
Leadership Mission to experience the true spirit of Israel with other young adults from across North America. Trip highlights will include:

• Exclusive briefings from top Israeli newsmakers, experts and opinion leaders
• Hands-on service opportunities
• Meeting with the CEOs behind Israel’s latest high-tech innovations
• Meaningful time in the holy city of Jerusalem
• Jeep rides through the Golan Heights
• Discover the nightlife in Tel Aviv

Applications must be completed by Sunday, April 9. To apply and to see a full itinerary, please visit jewishphilly.org/israel360.
if you have any questions, please contact Melanie Gerchberg, nextGen director, at [email protected].
